connection

We can smile, breathe, walk, and eat our meals in a way that allows us to be in touch with the abundance of happiness that is available. We are very good at preparing to live, but not very good at living. We know how to sacrifice ten years for a diploma, and we are willing to work very hard to get a job, a car, a house, and so on. But we have difficulty remembering that we are alive in the present moment, the only moment there is for us to be alive. Every breath we take, every step we make, can be filled with peace, joy, and serenity. We need only to be awake, alive in the present moment. Thich Nhat Hanh

I saw Avatar yesterday. I went to the IMAX Theater and saw it in 3D and it was truly amazing and inspiring. It was visually beautiful and the story was equally as beautiful. It spoke eloquently to the energy that connects us all. I felt like I was living in the world of Pandora. When I came out I felt the sharpness of this world.

Yes it was just a movie but the message had merit. It made me stop. We live in this society that is so rushed. It’s all about getting there and never being able to enjoy here. It’s all about acquiring more. I guess the movie gave me that gentle reminder of the energy that connects us all. In the connection we will find peace.

Today I am grateful for my meditation class and the opportunity to connect.
