what you don't know

People often say that motivation doesn't last. Well, neither does bathing - that's why we recommend it daily.
Zig Ziglar

Ah a little levity for the day. So true though, just because you read a great inspirational book last month doesn’t mean you are good to go with all the motivation you need to keep going. It’s actually a mind trick. How often do you say “I already know that” or “yes I have heard that before?” This is an easy trap we can fall in to and in that moment resisting more growth. You will never ever get there, you will never have enough wisdom or aha moments. So relax and be open every day to what is trying to reveal itself.

If you are choosing to live your greatest life than the first step is letting go that you know everything. Yes that’s a hard one especially living in this “I know everything” society. But I tell you there is great freedom in dropping out of the who knows more race. Every day you wake up and decide without even realizing that you are deciding how your day will go. We are unconscious most of the time focusing on things that are out of our control while moving through the day in an assembly line of I’m fine, thank you, grunts, and half glances.

We think of growth as another aspect of our life rather than our whole life. When you can embrace that, you can start seeing some real change in your life. Like I was saying yesterday, it’s about your practice. And more than that it’s about being present. If you can be present in every situation all day long what would your day look like? How would your conversations change? All of your conversations, even the ones that you have without thinking….the fine thanks, and how are you? What if you break that and just show up present? You can be your own motivation just by showing up differently in your own life. You can give so much by just being present. Everyone just wants to be heard. People want to feel that they matter.

So today I challenge you to matter enough to yourself that you wake up and be present in every conversation. Be open to the small gifts and listen like you don’t know.

Today I am grateful for the unknown. I embrace the new revelations I will experience today.
