Our attitude toward life determines life's attitude towards us. - Earl Nightingale
How is life treating you today? Did you wake up refreshed from the extra hour of sleep? I feel great. It was a beautiful morning at the beach. I ran the stairs and stretched. Felt great to be there and wanting to be there. Life is constant isn’t it? It is moving at the same speed and pace everyday and the question is “how are you moving with it” Are you moving with the current or are you trying to swim upstream? Does life feel difficult? This is a sure sign that you are trying to swim upstream. It’s exhausting to swim against the current. It’s hard to fight everyday to keep your head above water trying to keep it all together. So the question is why? Why are you struggling so hard if you don’t have to?
Whether you are struggling financially or struggling emotionally, it takes the same toll on you. The reason why you are struggling is because you believe that you have to. Somewhere in your thinking, you are programmed to believe that life is supposed to be hard. The reason that life is hard is because you are stubborn. Sorry, had to say it. And it’s only in my own stubbornness that I can make this distinction. When we become fixed on something that we think we know or think something shoud go a certain way, we are doomed. The moment we become set we don’t allow for what is supposed to happen. The minute we try to control the outcome is the minute we start swimming upstream. We are actually choosing to struggle the moment we can’t let go of what is.
This is why intention is so important. I f you have intention in your life than you have a direction but it is not anchored to a specific path. The “what it is” that you want to be or have in your life is great! It’s the how that we get there that screw us up. If you are open and flexible you are available for more good than you can imagine. But if you are so busy swimming and paddling, you miss all of the opportunities around you.
My life changed the minute I chose to be the change in my own life. I had to change my attention and focus to what I was really wanting in my life. I had to give up the idea that made sense to some old circumstances in my life. The minute I did that my business changed. I am now moving toward the goals in my life that I had put on the back burner. My computer business is flowing more now that I am allowing it be exactly what it is. It’s here to support me to be a coach, a writer and whatever else opens up for me. I share this because I am no different than any of you. I want everyone to feel that shift in their life. Just remember that your attitude and enthusiasm is what will create your extraordinary life.
Just today can you swim downstream and let what is trying to show up in your life, show up.
Today I am grateful for my creative space. I am grateful for my brother coming to share in it.
